Street Ranger

Our SR1 Street Ranger, Lee Taylor, is renowned among Sunderland city centre business owners and workers for repeatedly and consistently going above and beyond to support. It’s often said that Lee is a hero with no cape, the go-to guy and SR1’s one-man-wonder, as he is the sole Street Ranger for Sunderland BID but still manages to deliver all of his services and finds time for anything our levy payers may need.

Lee’s services include litter picking and weeding, jet washing and cleaning, graffiti and fly-tipping removal, planting jobs, collaborating with Sunderland City Council and supporting the BID Events team. Lee often secures properties which may be at risk of ASB or crime, making them safe and secure should the business owners be unable to do so. Lee also regularly liaises with local community support groups to ensure those who may be rough sleeping are reached out to and given the support they need to get back on their feet.

His work has been rightly recognised, receiving a Highly Commended from East In Bloom for his planting as well as being shortlisted in the ATCM awards – which support and represent town centre management across the UK – in the best ambassador/warden or ranger category.
