At Sunderland’s BIDs, we have a common purpose and a clear vision to create vibrancy and opportunities for everyone.
Sunderland’s BID has had an incredible ten years in the city centre and recently expanded to Sheepfolds. On 1 May 2025 our Seafront BID launched following an overwhelmingly in-favour vote from levy payers across Roker & Seaburn. The city’s development is one of the most ambitious regeneration projects in the UK, so now is the perfect time to build a connection between our City Centre and our Seafront to share best practise, increase visitor economy and work collaboratively for a better Sunderland.
CITY CENTREBID
Our City Centre BID began with a partnership of local business owners and stakeholders with a common purpose and a clear vision: To create a vibrant city centre with opportunities for everyone.
The City Centre BID is a driving force in our city’s future and a powerful catalyst for change.
Committed to transforming the city by working collaboratively to keep Sunderland in the spotlight. Galvanising multi-agency support, influencing ideas and enabling action, working with our stakeholders to make things happen.
SEAFRONT BID
The Seafront BID will bring multiple advantages to the individual Businesses at the seafront. It offers a collective approach to growth, innovation, and shared resources, such as coordinated marketing campaigns, public events, and enhanced area management, which can significantly boost footfall and customer engagement.
Additionally, it will give the seafront businesses a unified voice, advocating for local improvements and addressing security, transportation, and public amenities that directly impact business operations.
The BID’s collaborative nature will also bring networking opportunities, cost-sharing, and joint problem-solving, enabling businesses to thrive in a more vibrant, well-maintained, attractive environment.
