Taking place in Roker Park, this free community event brings together local creativity, self-expression and entertainment, with opportunities for visitors to get involved, show off their style and win awards throughout the day.

Join us for a FREE one-day Garden Games event packed with fun, movement, and activities for all ages and abilities.

Drop in anytime between 10AM - 5PM and get involved in as much or as little as you like, across multiple stands. Challenge yourself on different workout stations, visit our food and drinks stalls there's something for everyone!

From September 5 to 13 diners from across the region can take advantage of discounted deals at dozens of top eateries.

Around 50 top Sunderland spots have already signed up to participate in the event – where diners can enjoy £10, £15, £20 and £25 offers – with more poised to take part.

A fantastic variety of handpicked artisan local gift shopping stalls located in the Bridges Shopping Centre in Sunderland. 
Stalls include handmade gifts, art, delicious homebakes, gourmet sweet treats, photography, keepsakes, pet accessories, pamper products and so much more! 

Entry is free.

A Free Community Event to Connect, Support & Empower Local Residents

The Mackem Community Launch Event will take place on Tuesday 8 September from 10am to 3pm at City Hall, Sunderland offering a free and welcoming space for local residents to connect, access support and meet organisations working across the city. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy free refreshments, receive donated clothing and toiletries and speak with partner organisations providing guidance, and signposting services.

We’re delighted to confirm attendance from Disability North, Sunderland Foodbank, The Community Shop, Age UK Sunderland and Sunderland Mind, with additional partners expected to join us as the event grows. This launch has been generously supported by Morrisons Seaburn, Hebburn Helps, Ringtone Riches, and Greggs Café Sunderland, whose donations help us offer practical support to residents.
