Lush Sunderland

Come to Lush Sunderland for your evening of blending herbs and ingredients to make your own Angels on bare skin facial cleanser and learn about Samhain from our local interfaith Priestess and creator of Wyrdology Dr Bex Mcnally!

This October, step into the magic of Samhain with LUSH Sunderland and Wyrdology for an intimate two-hour immersive experience exploring Samhain through science, history, the psyche and the sacred.

Dr Bex McNally, creator of Wyrdology, will support you to journey beyond the familiar imagery of Samhain and explore what this ancient threshold can tell us about the experience of being human.

Through a series of talks and guided immersions, we’ll explore Samhain through the Wyrdology lenses of neuroscience, anthropology, theology, Jungian psychology and metaphysics.

We’ll journey into the neuroscience of the amygdala; explore ancestors, the otherworld and the unseen across cultures and spiritual traditions; enter the Jungian territory of the shadow; and consider metaphysical ideas surrounding the veil, consciousness and the unknown.

At the heart of our journey will be the Black Jaguar – the Wyrdology archetype accompanying us through the territories of instinct, shadow, courage and darkness.

Alongside the Wyrdology experience, you’ll get hands-on with the LUSH team to make your own Angels on Bare Skin fresh cleanser, weaving herbs, scent and sensory experience into something beautiful to take home.

Expect science and spirituality. Story and sensory immersion. Ancient traditions and modern minds. Herbs, archetypes, guided experiences and plenty of yummyness.

Your experience includes

An immersive Wyrdology exploration of Samhain
Neuroscience of the amygdala
Anthropology and theology surrounding Samhain, ancestors and remembrance
Jungian psychology, shadow and the Black Jaguar archetype
Metaphysical exploration of the veil and the unseen
Guided Wyrdology immersions
Making your own LUSH Angels on Bare Skin fresh cleanser to take home

-Only 10 places available

A little extra on the night

Guests attending the experience will receive £5 off a copy of Dr Bex McNally’s bestselling book, Wyrdology: The Guide, when purchased on the evening.

A small selection from the Wyrdology Apothecary will also be available to purchase, including Jaguar Sacred Sprays and Jaguar Herbal Blends, created to continue your exploration of the Jaguar archetype beyond this experience.

About Dr Bex McNally

Dr Bex McNally is a PhD Scientist, Interfaith Priestess, Author, Herbalist, Musician, and the creator of Wyrdology – a Sacred Science exploring what it means to be human.

Holding two doctorates, Bex’s interdisciplinary work brings together scientific, psychological, anthropological, neuroscience and spiritual ways of understanding the human experience. Her priestess and interfaith path includes recognition and ordination across multiple spiritual and religious traditions, honouring both God and Goddess paths and exploring the threads that connect different expressions of the sacred.

She is the author of the bestselling Wyrdology: The Guide, in which she introduces Wyrdology as a framework weaving Neuroscience, Jungian Psychology, Anthropology, Mythology, Theology, Herbalism, Ritual studies, Occult science and Metaphysics.

Through her writing, research and immersive experiences, Bex invites science and the sacred back into conversation – exploring the wonderful territory where brain, body, psyche, culture, nature and spirituality meet.
