Located within Sheepfolds, Ember is known for bold, charcoal-led cooking and immersive menus. In 2026, a new literary–themed menu launches every 7 weeks, each brought to life through fire and flavour. Set on one level, with wheelchair access and an open-plan kitchen, Ember also features a covered terrace with stunning views over the River Wear and Keel Crossing. Warm lighting, a cosy atmosphere, and our passionate team create an intimate, vibrant, and unforgettable experience.

Monday – Thursday 12pm-10pm( last seating at 9pm)
Friday and Saturday Lunch 12pm-5pm
Sunday Dinner 6pm -10pm (last seating at 9pm)
Bookings are advisable as we cannot guarantee space for walk-ins.
