Local bar receives six-figure investment - 11 new jobs created.
Residents of Sunderland are in for a treat this month, as Yates prepares to unveil its brand new look on 25 March following a £200,000 investment into refurbishment of the site.
Located on Burdon Road, the bar has undergone a complete transformation that has seen 11 new members of staff appointed alongside fresh updates to its appearance, which will boost its appeal for customer both young and old.
Becoming more open plan, the bar's new look will be light and airy, providing a welcoming environment for families looking for a tasty meal during the day, before transforming into a trendy nightspot come nightfall.
Free pool on Mondays will cement the bar's offering as one of the best sporting venues locally, alongside its schedule of all the key sporting fixtures available on BT and Sky Sports all year round.
Selected pitchers and platters will be available for just £9 every Tuesday, giving students and professionals alike, the chance to indulge themselves.
What's more, Friday Club offers select bottles, beers and Smirnoff vodka mixes for only £1.50, before 70s, 80s and 90s tunes play to keep the crowd entertained during Candy Shop. On Sundays, customers can wind down the weekend with sumptuous lunches and the best sporting action.
The bar is also introducing a brand new Alternative/Cabaret night once a month, which will play a selection of the best cabaret tunes and give guests the opportunity to properly let their hair down.

Finally, the bar will re-open with the brand new Yates menu, which includes a selection of new arrivals alongside long-standing customer favourites. With everything from light bites: Vegetable Panang and Spinach & Broccoli Quiche, to bigger plates including the Challenege Burger and a brand new 'Mexicana' section to the menu - customers will be spoilt for choice when deciding what to tuck into.
