Ping Pong Returns to the Bridges

07 June 2022

POP UP Ping Pong has returned to the Bridges – which is good news for any shoppers wanting to improve their sporting skills.

The fun activity is now available at the Sunderland shopping centre every day and is free to enjoy, with people of all ages being encouraged to take part.

This is the first time the Ping Pong Parlour has been at the Bridges since 2019, but its popularity has encouraged centre bosses to bring it back again.

Although only a temporary attraction, the parlour – created in conjunction with Table Tennis England – will give both children and adults the opportunity to play the easy-to-learn game.

The Ping Pong Parlour has been set up in the former Christmas shop unit, opposite H & M, and is open Monday to Saturday from 10 am until 4 pm and on Sundays from noon until 4 pm.

“Table tennis is a great fun activity, and people don’t need to have played it before to come and give it a try,” said Karen Eve, Centre Director at the Bridges.

“There are four tables which means eight people can play simultaneously, so it’s a brilliant activity for groups of friends, families or just individuals who want to participate.”

Although using the Ping Pong Parlour is free, participants will need to pay a £5 returnable deposit to use the bats.
