ONE of Sunderland’s top hotels is celebrating its tenth anniversary, with a £150,000 spruce-up.
Hilton Garden Inn at Vaux Brewery Way will be marking a decade since it first opened its doors later this month (April).
And the birthday will coincide with the unveiling of the first phase of the hotel’s new look, which includes a revamped lobby area, bar and public seating areas which all feature colourful furniture and eye-catching artwork.
The hotel’s 141 bedrooms are about to undergo an upgrade, as part of a rolling programme of refreshing the facilities.
The Hilton Garden Inn’s popular Karbon Grill is also sporting a new look, with new chairs giving it a more contemporary feel.
Since it first opened the hotel has been a huge hit, with its close proximity to the Stadium of Light also making it in huge demand on matchdays.
Gareth Freeman, General Manager at the hotel, said the milestone was something to celebrate.
“This anniversary gives us a real opportunity to showcase what the Hilton Garden Inn has to offer, not just for our guests but for everyone,” he said.
“We can’t wait for people to see how it looks and hopefully they’ll come along and see for themselves.
“We’ve had ten years of welcoming visitors from around the world to stay with us and we look forward to continuing to do so.”
