On Friday 31st May, Sunderland City Council, endorsed the Sunderland BID Business Plan.
This is an important milestone as, although the BID is a business-led initiative, the BID regulations state that approval from the relevant billing authority (the local Council) is required prior to public notification of the intention to hold a ballot of eligible businesses.
The key dates relating to the ballot are as follows:
Thursday 20th June – Sunderland City Council will send a ballot paper to those responsible for properties with rateable values of £15,000 or above within the BID area.
Thursday 20th June – Thursday 18th July – Ballot papers should be completed and returned to Sunderland City Council by 5pm on 18th July.
Thursday 18th July – Ballot closes at 5pm and the result will be announced as soon as practically possible after the ballot closes.
Business Plans will be hand delivered to businesses in the BID area in the run up to the ballot papers being issued. We are also distributing copies to businesses in the BID area below the £15,000 threshold and will mail copies to the national offices where the voter has been confirmed.
