The Continental Street Market is set to pay its inaugural visit to Sunderland this week when it visits the city centre. Starting on Wednesday 11 April, and finishing on Saturday 14 April, it's sure to serve as a welcome attraction. The market will take place in Market Square, and will be open from 10am to 6pm each day.
Traders from around the world will be on hand to display the best products that their respective countries have to offer. The market will have a wide array of products; from unusual craft items, to food traders offering the best hot and cold produce. Expect the area to be brought to life with the sights, sounds and smells of different continents.
The market is operated by RR Events, a North-West based Event Management company specialising in special event and themed markets. The Continental Street Market will travel the length and breadth of the UK as part of its 2018 tour.
RR Events Managing Director Tony Walsh said: “Our team of staff and traders have been involved in markets across Europe for over 10 years. We are particularly proud of our Continental Street Market brand as we know the atmosphere that it brings to the towns and cities we visit. We would like to thank Sunderland BID and the City Council for their hard work facilitating the event, and hope that it’s well received locally.
From Wednesday 11th April to Saturday 14th April, around 30 traders will be present selling the best of the continent’s gastronomic delights and craft items. The food on offer will range from cakes and pastries for those with a sweet tooth, flavoured cheeses and olives for those who prefer savoury treats, as well as a host of hot food offerings such as Greek Gyros, Spanish Paella, Polish Bigos and Shao Kao Chinese Chicken
