Christmas Frost Village returns to Sunderland

18 October 2016

Christmas in Sunderland is being put on ice this year - as the city's Frost Village returns with a programme full of activities.

Sunderland's Business Improvement District has unveiled its plans for the festive season, which will include the return of the open air ice rink and winter markets.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy outdoor screenings of favourite movies, the Ha'Way in a Manger candlelit conga parade and music and dance sessions in Keel Square.

The programme will be launched on 24 November with the unveiling of the ice rink, including special performances by professional skaters, and will be open daily until Christmas Eve.

Training sessions will be on offer for people of all ages along with special dance sessions and parties, with the addition of the Merry Monk Bar selling hot Gluhwein for adults to enjoy.

The rink will also be available for group bookings through-out the festive period, with set times when it will also be available for private hire - for groups who want to organise a Christmas party with a difference.

Every Thursday to Sunday from 15 November right up until 23 December, Keel Square will also host a Christmas market, offering a range of unusual and unique products.
