Sunderland BID’s December Business Breakfast (Sponsored by Gentoo) is fast approaching. This month, the event will highlight the White Ribbon Campaign, a cause of great importance in every workplace.

Join us in supporting the White Ribbon Campaign, a worldwide movement working to end male violence against women and encourage positive change in attitudes and behaviours.

White Ribbon Day is observed on 25 November, marking the start of the 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence, a global initiative aimed at building a future where everyone can live in safety, equality, and respect.

We are honoured to welcome Laura Seebohm, CEO of Wearside Women in Need, as our keynote speaker. Laura will discuss the importance of recognising and ending male violence against women and girls, focusing on the role of engaging men and boys in changing attitudes and behaviours to ensure that women feel safe in their workplace.

Following the presentation, there will be a panel discussion featuring:

  • Cllr Kelly Chequer, Sunderland City Council
  • Surbhi Vedhara, Sweeney Miller Law
  • Sarah Letherm, Three Stories
  • Laura Seebohm, Wearside Women in Need

Together, they will explore ways to identify early signs of abuse, promote awareness, and encourage open conversations around this vital issue.

We strongly encourage our local businesses to join us for this critical discussion, which also covers current topics of relevance across our City Centre and Seafront BID’s
These business breakfasts provide an invaluable opportunity for collaboration, a forum for sharing ideas, voicing opinions, and shaping the continued development and improvement of our city centre.
